Explanation

A lot of people have asked me why I stopped making this comic and it's really quite simple... I was following a formula. A formula that would make me millions (picture dollar bill signs where my eyes should be).

First you make something nerdy/dorky enough to develop a fan base of nerdy/dorky people (I can poke fun at this demographic because I am both nerdy and dorky... and also a bit of a geek. But I would never poke fun at geeks. Geeks are dangerous). Anyway, we nerd-dorks are an extremely loyal group, providing you don't do something stupid like change your name from Sci-Fi to SyFy - can we digress here for a minute and talk about how stupid that was?! so so stupid.

Once you have a critical mass of followers, you abruptly cut them off for no reason and drop hints that it was because you lost funding or some network bigwig didn't like the show. It helps if you also insinuate that this network bigwig was the captain of the football team in high school (what a douche). Then you sit back and watch the magic happen. Your fan base starts clamoring for the show to be resurrected (i.e. Family Guy), or at the very least they demand a movie (i.e. Firefly) and within months you're making mad cash... mad cash.

It was a perfect plan... foolproof, as long as I was patient. I waited in my underground fortress for months and months. But as the months passed, I got bored waiting for the clamor... I started to feel like my plan was evil and that the nerd-dorks must have seen straight through everything.

I did some soul-searching and I realized that I was bored with dressing up animals in clothes from famous paintings (I also realized that you needed more than 15 people to create anything resembling a clamor).

So I am retiring the beloved animals in favor of a less character-driven comic. I'll leave the old comics up for posterity, but I doubt I'll revive them. At least not until the fan base demands it (and I have a motion picture offer). In the meantime, enjoy the new content.
